Store My Car Director Miles Rudman will get his bid for Legends Cars Elite Cup glory underway this weekend (May 6/7) as the all-new 5/8 scale series takes its place on the support bill of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

Having been hotly-anticipated since it was announced more than five months ago, the Elite Cup will feature at three BTCC meetings over the course of 2023; starting this weekend in Kent before then competing at Croft and Knockhill later in the summer.

With his sights firmly set on capturing the top prize, this season marks the start of a new chapter for Rudman, who is the three-time and reigning champion in the sister Legends Cars Championship, as he joins forces with Team First4Vans to drive the popular Se-Van.

Following a damp test at Brands Hatch back in March, the 36-year-old recently wasted no time in getting up to speed with his striking yellow and blue machine last month as he scored a podium finish at Cadwell Park.

The eye-catching First4Vans livery won’t be hard to miss among the weekend’s 30-plus grid and that can only be a good thing as the series gets set to start not only in front of tens of thousands of spectators trackside but also many more watching on ITV4 on Sunday.

Like the traditional Legends Cars Championship, the Elite Cup will consist of three races on Saturday and a further three races on Sunday, with starting grids decided by ballots.

Miles Rudman: “I’m really looking forward to kicking off the Legends Cars Elite Cup campaign at Brands Hatch this weekend; it’s felt like quite a long wait for it to come around but the excitement is really building now.

“Being able to head into the weekend having gotten some proper running under our belts at Cadwell Park was invaluable as it means we’re going into the weekend with the car in a really good place.

“Obviously the BTCC is one of the biggest championships in the world so to be on the same package as them is pretty amazing. Hopefully we can show everyone what Legends Cars racing is all about.

“For me, this is the only full championship that I’m doing this year so I’m all in. We need six big points finishes and if we can also come away with a few trophies as well then that wouldn’t be too bad either.”
